Do I need an egress window?

If you want a basement room to count as a legal bedroom — and to be safe — yes. A compliant egress window is the emergency exit code requires, and it's what lets the room count and appraise as a bedroom. We handle the window and the permit as part of the build.

Will finishing my basement add square footage to my house?

Not exactly — and it's worth being straight about it. Appraisers report finished basement space separately from your home's above-grade square footage and value it at a discount.
